Louisville Bats News Release
Louisville, KY - The Louisville Bats are teaming up with the Veterans Service Organizations and our friends at Ft. Knox to honor those who have served our country in the past and the present. Special ceremonies, activities and events are planned both pre-game and during the game as the Bats take on the Buffalo Bisons at Louisville Slugger Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4:15 p.m., but fans are encouraged to arrive early to take in all the pre-game festivities and tributes as well. Gates will open at 3:00 p.m. and the first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a FREE Bats camouflage hat.
To honor those who have served our country throughout the years, all military personnel (active, reserve and guard), dependents and Veteran Service Organization members with proper identification (VFW, American Legion, DAV, etc.) will be admitted to the game FREE of charge.
A pregame ceremony honoring 106-year-old World War I veteran Robley Rex will take place on the field prior to the game. Robley is the oldest living veteran in the State of Kentucky. There will also be a pregame performance by the 113th Army Band from Fort Knox.
If you would like to purchase additional tickets for friends or family in advance at the group rate ($5 - $8), you may do so by calling the Bats office at (502) 212-2287.
