Spokane Chiefs News Release

The Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club has announced that Mark Miles, the Chiefs Vice President of Business Operations, has acquired a 1% ownership interest in the team.

"I am proud to have Mark as a co-owner," said Chiefs President, Bobby Brett. "Mark's leadership is one of the big reasons that our organization is successful and this is a great reward for all his hard work."

Miles has been a key member of the Brett Sports organization since 1994 when he joined the Spokane Indians as an Account Executive. Miles joined the Spokane Chiefs in 1995 and worked his way up to his current position as Vice President. In his current role, Miles is responsible for all ticket sales, promotions, public relations, game-day operations and management of all business-related aspects of the franchise. Miles was awarded the Western Hockey League Marketing award of the year in 2001.

Miles joins Bobby Brett and General Manager Tim Speltz as members of the ownership group who also serve on the management staff. The rest of the Chiefs ownership group are members of the Brett family as well as a few other long-time associates of the Brett's.

"Becoming an owner of the Chiefs is an honor and dream for me" said Miles. "There isn't a better organization in sports, or a better City to be in than Spokane. The staff, fans, community, sponsors and Arena are all first class and I'm proud to be apart of it" added Miles.

Miles is a graduate of Brockport State University in New York. He grew up in Wellsville, NY and is a member of the Wellsville Sports Hall of Fame. Prior to coming to Spokane, Miles worked for the Buffalo Bisons Triple-A Baseball team.
