WICHITA, Kan. - Kansas City Royals pitcher Mike Wood has been sent to Wichita on a Major League Rehab Assignment.
Wood will start tonight's game and be piggybacked by scheduled starter, LHP Tyler Lumsden. Wood is also scheduled to pitch again on Thursday, August 17.
With the Royals in 2006, Mike Wood has appeared in 21 games, starting seven. In 62.0 innings pitched, Wood was 3-3 with a 5.66 ERA. He has struck out 28 batters.
Wood has been on the Disabled List since July 3 with back inflammation.
