North Carolina FC News Release
CARY, N.C. - North Carolina FC continues to add talented players to its roster, as Cameroonian midfielder Duval Wapiwo has joined North Carolina FC on loan from MFK Vyskov, pending league and federation approval along with receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P1 Visa.
"We're happy to sign a player like Duval," said North Carolina FC Head Coach Dave Sarachan. "Although young, Duval has done well in his domestic league and brings that experience to NCFC. Being a box to box midfielder, he has the skill set of being a ball winner as well as a player that can make plays in the attacking third of the field. I look forward to having him join us and to work with him."
The 18-year-old becomes the third player at NCFC on loan from the Czech Republic side. Donovan Ewolo, Yamikani Chester are also on loan from the same club. Prior to joining MFK Vyskov this year, Wapiwo developed his game with Apejes FC de Mfou in Cameroon's top division. The youngster is a box-to-box midfielder with talent on both sides of the ball.
He joins a growing contingent of African players on NCFC's roster. Wapiwo and Ewolo (Cameroon) have joined Nigerian Victor Igbekoyi and Malawian Yamikani Chester as African-based players on NCFC's roster.
North Carolina FC's roster, that is growing every week, currently includes goalkeeper Alex Tambakis, defenders Aaron Guillen, Steven Miller and DJ Taylor, midfielders Austin da Luz, Dre Fortune, Victor Igbekoyi, Austin Panchot, Graham Smith and Duval Wapiwo and forwards Yamikani Chester, Donovan Ewolo and Marios Lomis.
