
Middleton Named Carolina League Pitcher of the Week

GREENSBORO, NC â The Carolina League named Wilmington Blue Rocks right-handed pitcher Kyle Middleton Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 25-May1, 2003. Ryan Doumit of Lynchburg was named Batter of the Week.
Middleton pitched in two games during the week, going 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA in 12 innings. The Pensacola, FL native allowed one run on six hits in six innings in his victory over Winston-Salem on April 25. The 22-year-old went six innings in the combined shutout over the Frederick Keys on April 30.
Middleton has been the starter in all three of the Blue Rocks combined shutouts in 2003.
Doumit earned Batter of the Week honors going 13-for-19 with four doubles, five runs scored and four RBI over the past week for the Hillcats.
Both Middleton and Doumit earned these same respective honors for the week of April 5-April 11, 2003.
