Doubleheader, Give Birth Day to Highlight Homestand

WILMINGTON, DE – The Wilmington Blue Rocks host the Salem Avalanche for three games from May 5-7, 2003, with all three games starting at 7:05 p.m. The Myrtle Beach Pelicans come to Frawley Stadium for four games in three days, from May 9-11, 2003, with the doubleheader being played on Friday, May 9, beginning at 6:05 p.m. and Give Birth Day held on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 11.

On Monday, May 5, the Rocks battle the Avalanche as the first 1,500 adults receive CD holders courtesy of Land Rover of Wilmington. The Blue Rocks also welcome mayor Leon Spencer and the community of Kennett Square, PA. On Tuesday, May 6, the first 1,500 fans receive mousepads compliments of The CHUBB Institute on Salem County (NJ) night. The final game with the Avalanche will be played on Wednesday, May 7, as the first 1,250 fans receive a beach towel thanks to Bank One. The Rocks celebrate Delaware County night at the ballpark on Wednesday.

On Friday, May 9, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans return for the second time this season. The Rocks and Pelicans battle in a doubleheader, beginning at 6:05 p.m. Gates to Frawley Stadium open at 4:45 p.m. as the first 1,000 kids receive baseball gloves compliments of PFPC. The News Journal will also pass out the newspaper with a Blue Rocks player poster inside. The Blue Rocks will hold the first Hooters Launch-A-Ball contest of 2003 following the game on Friday. On Saturday, May 10, the Alliance for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention presents sports thermoses for the first 1,250 fans. Following the 7:05 p.m. game, the second Hooters Launch-A-Ball contest of the season will be held. On Sunday, May 11, the Rocks and Pelicans wrap-up their four-game series with a 1:35 p.m. start. Happy Harry's and Kimberly-Clark present Give Birth Day on Mother's Day. Prior to the game, the Delaware Division of Libraries presents Story Time Sunday and following the game the Diamond Derby will be run courtesy of Al's Sporting Goods.

Blue Rocks Notes: The Blue Rocks radio show, Inside Pitch with Steve Lenox, will air on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. with special guest Kyle Snyder of the Kansas City Royals. Snyder made his major league debut on Thursday against the Boston Red Sox. The show can be heard on the Blue Rocks Radio Network of AM 1290 WJBR and 1410 AM WDOV.
