Middendorf Sent to Burlington

Idaho Falls Chukars pitcher David Middendorf has been sent to the Burlington Royals (R) of the Appalachian League.
The former 22nd round pick in the June 2011 draft had appeared in 10 games for the Chukars this season, compiling an 0-2 record with a 6.35 ERA. Over his 17 innings pitched, Middendorf allowed 25 hits, walked six and struck out 15.
The southpaw had improved considerably since struggling to start the season. In his last five appearances Middendorf had thrown seven total innings allowing just one earned run on six hits.
Middendorf becomes the third Chukar from the Opening Day roster to leave the team, joining Mike Giovenco and Paul Krebs who were both sent to the Kane County Cougars.
