
Michel Returns to Mayhem While Watt Is Waived

MACON, GA- The Macon Mayhem and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kerr announced this afternoon that defenseman Ryan Michel has been recalled from loan to the Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL, while defenseman David Watt has been released by the team.
Michel, 24, returns from a one game stint with Atlanta. The 5-11, 180-pound defenseman was loaned to the Gladiators on January 16, 2017. The native of Camillus, NY has played 26 games for the Mayhem this season- recording 11 assists and a plus-14 rating. Michel will be in the lineup this weekend as the Mayhem face the Huntsville Havoc on Friday night and the Knoxville Ice Bears on Saturday.
With Michel returning to the Mayhem lineup, defenseman David Watt becomes the odd man out, as he has been released by the team. Watt, 25, was acquired by the Mayhem from the Columbus Cottonmouths on November 16, 2016 in exchange for future considerations. For the Mayhem this season, Duchess, AB-native has appeared in 15 games- recording one assist and a plus-three rating. In 22 overall SPHL games this season, Watt has two goals and one assist.
The Macon Mayhem return home on this Saturday, January 21st against the Knoxville Ice Bears.
