
Michael Kirkpatrick Named Offensive Player Of The Week

SAINT JOHN, NB --- The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced today that Saint John Sea Dogs forward Michael Kirkpatrick has been named the league's TELUS Offensive Player of the Week for the period of November 17 - 23.
In two games played this past week, Kirkpatrick tallied 4G-1A-5P, setting new career highs in both goals (16) and points (23) in the process. The 18-year old centre currently leads the Sea Dogs in goals as well as both power play (7) and short-handed markers (3). The North Sydney, NS native has also won a team-high 509 face-offs.
Originally acquired by Saint John in the second round (22nd overall) of the 2007 QMJHL Entry Draft, Kirkpatrick was named the Sea Dogs Net Difference Rookie of the Year last season after registering 69GP-14G-7A-23P in his first year at the major junior level.
The QMJHL also announced today that Rouyn-Noranda Huskies goaltender Antoine Lafleur has been named the TELUS Defensive Player of the Week.
The Sea Dogs (16-10-1-1) next hit the ice tomorrow evening when they visit the Halifax Metro Centre for a 7:00pm matchup with the Mooseheads.
Saint John's next home game is scheduled to be played on Friday, December 5 versus the Drummondville Voltigeurs. The first 3,000 fans in attendance at this game will receive a free Sea Dogs poster courtesy of Irving Oil.
