Miami FC News Release
Miami, Fla. - The Miami Football Club announced Monday an official supporter group status approval for the Bearded Villains Miami Chapter. The chapter based in Miami will join the Dade Brigade as the second major supporter group of Miami FC as the USL Championship franchise prepares for its home opener on March 12th at FIU Stadium against New York Red Bulls II.
Established in 2014 by Fred Ramirez, also known as Von Knox, the Bearded Villains are a group of men who are passionate about their beards and the communities they live in. Also known as BV, the Bearded Villains built its community organically on social media. One-hundred-and-fifty-six Bearded Villains Chapters are committed to helping their communities across 36 countries.
"We are thrilled to be recognized as an Official Supporter Group!" mentioned Daniel Perez, Bearded Villains Miami Chapter Captain. "BV305 and Miami FC together will focus on the 305 Community and the outreach towards betterment and support to its people. We are looking forward to achieve victory in determination, ethics and hard work, while supporting Miami FC from the stands."
The Miami Chapter is one of the largest Bearded Villains branches worldwide. Other than maintaining some of the best beards around the planet, the Bearded Villains have participated in over 75 charity events since its inception on April 10, 2015, working with Make-A-Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and Camillus House. The Miami Chapter also refurbishes facilities and collects supplies for public school students in Miami-Dade County. Miami FC fans may recognize the group from the team's latest "I AM" campaign where the Bearded Villains story was highlighted in a recent episode.
In addition to making their support known on matchdays for Miami's only pro soccer team, Bearded Villains are also joining forces with Miami FC's Fútbol305 Initiative, to continue making a lasting impact in the 305 community.
