
Miami FC Academy U-19 Crowned Broward League D2 Champions

Fort Myers, Fla. - Miami FC Academy U-19 defeated Juventus-Rincon 3-1 at Kelly Road Soccer Complex in Fort Myers, Fla., to lift the 2021-22 Broward League D2 title. Forward Juan David Bernabe Rivas finished as the competition's top goalscorer, finding the back of the net 24 times in just 12 games.
Broward League regular season
Miami FC Orange U-19 finished in third place during the first half of the regular season. The team earned 18 points across nine matches, posting the best defensive record - seven goals against - and producing 14 goals.
Coach Marlon's U-19 improved offensively in the second half of the season, which consisted of eight matches. The group finished in second place with 18 points, winning six and losing two fixtures. The U-19s improved their goalscoring record, scoring 27 goals.
Broward League Championships semifinal
MFC Orange U-19 faced off against playoffs favorites Doral Soccer Club U-18 Premier in the semifinals. The Doral side entered the playoffs posting a 12W-1L-4D record. Moreover, the team scored 59 goals in the process.
Nonetheless, Miami FC defeated Doral Soccer Club U-18 Premier 3-1. The Miami FC Academy team displayed a good team performance that helped the side reach the finals.
Broward League Championships Final
The U-19 team encountered Juventus-Rincon in the final on Sunday, winning the outing 3-1.
Bernabe scored the first goal of the match before the 14th minute, striking the ball from outside the ball through traffic and into the goal. The Honduran doubled Miami FC U-19's lead five minutes after. He chased after a long ball, controlled it and tucked it past the goalkeeper.
Juventus-Rincon cut the deficit in half before halftime. However, Gregorio Maroni scored Miami's third goal in style.
Broward League top goalscorer
Bernabe was the top goalscorer in the competition, claiming 24 goals in just 12 games. The forward joined Marlon's team as a reinforcement, taking the competition by storm.
