Miami FC Academy Open House Set to Kick off in May
April 7, 2022 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Miami FC News Release
Miami, Fla. - The Miami FC Academy invites boys and girls in the Miami-Dade County area who are interested in competitive and recreational soccer to its official 2022 Open House.
Upon registration, players born between 2004 and 2015 will be invited to participate in training sessions at Tamiami Park throughout the month of May. Instead of traditional one- or two-day tryout structure, the Miami FC Academy Open House will host a free-of-cost, month-long evaluation system where players will be thoroughly evaluated by qualified professionals in a timelier manner and pressure-free environment.
Incoming players will join Miami FC Academy players and coaches, who will follow an age and level-appropriate curriculum, tailored to challenge players of all levels. Trialists will be invited to join team sessions of their appropriate age group.
The Miami FC Academy is going through a compelling transition ahead of the upcoming 2022-23 club season. The Miami FC board brought in a new leadership team to the academy to work toward new objectives. Academy Business Director Firmiano Ribeiro and Director of Coaching Giuseppe Weller arrived at the Miami FC Academy earlier this year with the goal to overhaul the current program.
The Miami FC Academy's vision is to provide children with opportunities through youth programing such as development centers, recreational programs, camps, competitive leagues and tournaments, and other events that will serve as a resource to the youth soccer community in Miami.
Moreover, the MFC Academy works closely with Miami FC, the academy's parent club. Miami FC is a local professional team that competes in the USL Championship, the USA's second division of professional soccer. Kids who currently play in the academy are in constant contact with the senior team, who compete at FIU Stadium next door to Tamiami Park.
