EL PASO, Texas - El Paso Locomotive FC (0-4-0, 0 points, West-13) hosts expansion side Monterey Bay F.C. (1-3-0, 3 points, West-11) for the first time in franchise history on Saturday, April 9, at Southwest University Park. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. MT with tickets available online at eplocomotivefc.com/tickets.

El Paso Locomotive will be hosting a Spirit Night on Saturday. Saturday's home match will be celebrated with a fireworks show for the Locomotive fans in attendance as well as the $6 Estrella Special that includes a 12oz Estrella Jalisco and Chicharrones. Following a disappointing trip to California that saw Locomotive fall to San Diego Loyal on Sunday before bowing out of the U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday night. The team now has an opportunity to reset and right the track with a match against league newcomers Monterey Bay. With the attacking front from El Paso, Locomotive has proven to be a threat after four games in the USL Championship. In the early games of a long season, El Paso has had six players come together to record eight goals resulting in an average of two goals per game. With an undeniable attacking threat, Locomotive will continue to tighten up its form with each passing game.

The next trial comes in the form of Monterey. The newly minted USL Championship side has only five games in its competitive history, playing to three losses and a single win in regular season play while earning a 2-1 loss in Open Cup play on Wednesday night against Bay Cities FC. With its start to the 2022 season, Monterey has been less than stellar but has proven to be a team that is eager to make an early impact on the league. As these two teams look to start closing the gaps at the top of the table, both teams will view Saturday's game as a must-win.
