St. Lucie Mets News Release
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Thursday's game between the St. Lucie Mets and Palm Beach Cardinals at Clover Park was suspended due to inclement weather.
The game is scoreless in the top of the third with no outs and no one on base. It will resume at 4 p.m. on Friday and be played through nine innings. The teams will then take a 30 minute break before playing a seven-inning game to get the series on track.
Fans with tickets to Thursday's game can exchange those tickets for any other game this season except July 3rd.
Mets starting pitcher Saul Garcia struck out five batters over his 2.0 innings of work on Thursday before storms hit the area. The Cardinals loaded the bases with no outs in the second but Garcia responded by striking out three in a row to keep the game scoreless. Garcia has now pitched 9.0 scoreless innings at home this season.
Palm Beach starter Pete Hansen held the Mets to one Eduardo Salazar single over his two innings.
Kids will run the bases at the conclusion of Friday's second game.
