New York Red Bulls News Release
Metros Return to New Jersey: The MetroStars returned to the Metropolitan Area last weekend after a two-week training stint in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The "Red and Black" will train on the main field at Giants Stadium tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. ET for the first time since 2003. MetroStars Head Coach Bob Bradley and players will be available to media after training.
The MetroStars will play the Colorado Rapids in their final preseason match on Saturday, March 27, at 8:30 p.m. ET in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be promoted and managed by Blue Sport Entertainment.
The MetroStars open the 2004 MLS season on April 3, 2004, against the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium. The "Red and Black" will return home two weeks later on April 17, when they host D.C. United and 14-year-old phenom Freddy Adu at Giants Stadium at 4:00 p.m. ET. Tickets are available for the Metros home opener, and all Metros games by calling 1-888-4METROTIX.
Metro vs. Metro: MetroStars midfielder Amado Guevara and defender Craig Ziadie will face-off against each other when Honduras takes on Jamaica on Wednesday, March 31 in Kingston, Jamaica. Guevara is the all-time appearance leader for Honduras with 77 caps, adding 15 goals for Bora Milutinovic's squad. "El Lobo" made his debut for the nation on May 5, 1994, in a 2-1 win over Peru in Miami, Florida. Ziadie has earned 18 caps for the Reggae Boyz, since making his international debut on November 20, 2002, vs. Japan in a 1-1 tie in Tokyo.
MetroStars Kickoff Extravaganza: The MetroStars will be hosting a season kickoff party for all youth soccer coaches in the Tri-State Area on Wednesday, March 31 at the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. MetroStars President and General Manager Nick Sakiewicz, Head Coach Bob Bradley, and players will be on hand to speak to the attendees and answer questions.
