MetroStars Orlando Bound

December 21, 2018 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Mississauga MetroStars News Release

The Mississauga MetroStars get ready to face a third South Central Division opponent in two weeks when they travel to Orlando to take on the SeaWolves tomorrow night at the Silver Spurs Arena (kickoff 7:05 pm ET).

The Eastern Division's MetroStars (1-2) are coming off a 12-6 home defeat to the Kansas City Comets just five days after beating the Florida Tropics 10-0 in the club's inaugural season home opener.

Despite jumping out to an early 2-0 lead, the MetroStars were overwhelmed in the second quarter by an experienced Comets side that put seven goals on the scoresheet. Kansas City never looked back scoring five more in the second half. The Comets were led by Leo Gibson, who netted three goals and three assists. Six different scorers connected for the Metrostars including forwards Dwayne De Rosario and Mo Babouli, who both found the net for the third straight game and share the scoring lead for Mississauga with seven points each.

The SeaWolves (0-2) have lost both their games this season, the latest being a 4-1 defeat to the defending MASL champion Baltimore Blast. Luiz Mota put Orlando ahead just over seven minutes into the game but the SeaWolves were held scoreless the rest of the way. Orlando had lost their season opener to the St Louis Ambush 5-4 in a penalty shootout.

The MetroStars will be without goalkeeper Adrian Becic who is unavailable for personal reasons. Reserve 'keeper Sebastian Zeballos has been called into the 15-man roster. Midfielder Luis Rocha remains out as he continues to rehabilitate an injury.

The MetroStars face the Orlando SeaWolves Saturday at the Silver Spurs Arena with kickoff set for 7:05pm (ET). The match will be live streamed on MASL.tv at maslsoccer.com.
