Bo Jelovac netted a hattrick while Ben Ramin had a pair of goals as Eastern Division leaders Utica City FC defeated the Mississauga MetroStars 8-4 to earn their 12th win of the season and third over the expansion MetroStars in a MASL match Friday evening at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga.

? ?The MetroStars took the lead in the match with just under 3:00 to play in the first quarter on a goal by Mo Babouli, his 14th of the season, on a second effort after his first shot missed the target. But Jelovac equalized just 13 seconds later when he struck a right foot shot from a narrow angle.

? ?Utica added two more goals in the second quarter as Ramin and Jelovac scored just 53 seconds apart to give the visitors a 3-1 lead at halftime.

? ?Utica City FC upped its lead early in the third quarter as Liam Callahan drove a shot through the legs of MetroStars keeper Adrian Becic. But the hosts would cut the deficit to 4-3 when Luis Rocha smashed a shot from the yellow line past Utica's Andrew Coughlin and then Dwayne De Rosario, on his return to the lineup after injury, scored on a rebound off a blocked shot.

? ?The visitors opened the fourth quarter with a goal after just 33 seconds as Joey Tavernese headed past Becic for his 17th of the season. Then, Jelovac completed his hattrick for his 17th of the year, netting a power play goal. Things went from bad to worse for Mississauga as Logan Roberts' cross caromed into the goal off MetroStars defender Halburto Harris.

? ?With Mississauga employing a sixth attacker, Marco Rodriguez gave the MetroStars some life late in the match, scoring his 11th on a feed from Darren Chambers but Ramin's second of the game and 10th of the season completed the scoring for Utica with just over 90 seconds to play.

? ?With the loss, the MetroStars' record in the MASL's Eastern Division falls to 3-12 while Utica City improves to 12-4.

? ?The MetroStars head south to Pennsylvania where they will face the Harrisburg Heat Sunday February 24 at the PA Farm Show Arena. Kickoff is 5:05pm (ET).
