Phoenix Mercury News Release
In 2021, the WNBA celebrates Season 25 and today the three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury unveiled their 25th Season logo identity.
One of the eight original franchises at the league's inception in 1997, the Mercury are one of three that remain in their original market, and the only one under its original NBA ownership structure - a true testament to the commitment of the organization's leadership and its fans, the X-Factor, which has sustained the franchise and built the Mercury into one of the Valley's most recognizable brands.
In Season 25, the Mercury will remain committed to delivering representation to the groups most central to the WNBA and its mission: women, people of color, and the LGBT community and its allies, and to being an example of equality to girls and boys, men and women alike. Basketball is the vehicle the Mercury has used to strive for measurable social progress through 25 seasons, 406 victories, 16 playoff appearances, four Finals berths, and three championships, and that fight on and off the court continues into 2021.
