
Mercury Season Tipoff Show Airs Sunday on FOX Sports Arizona

PHOENIX - FOX Sports Arizona will preview the 2011 Phoenix Mercury season in a tipoff show on Sunday, May 29 at 7:30 p.m. The show will be re-aired on May 31 at 5 p.m., June 6 at 8 p.m. and June 14 at 5 p.m.
The 30-minute special will feature a candid conversation with Diana Taurasi about her offseason in Turkey as well as how she and Penny Taylor spent their down time in Phoenix. FOX Sports Arizona will also take a look at the opening of training camp, the team's preseason game against the JX Sunflowers and highlight a few new additions to the Mercury.
In the final stages of training camp, the Mercury prepares to open its 2011 campaign on Saturday, June 4 when it travels to Seattle to take on the defending WNBA champion Storm. That game will be broadcast on ABC at noon PT.
The Mercury plays its first two games on the road before returning to the Valley of the Sun for the home opener on June 17 vs. San Antonio, which will be broadcast on FOX Sports Arizona Plus. Two days later former Mercury forward Tangela Smith will make her return to US Airways Center with the Indiana Fever on Sunday, June 19 at 3 p.m.
