
Mercury Evens Series in Vegas with Game 2 Win, Will Host Games 3 and 4 on Sunday and Wednesday

PHOENIX - The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury tonight evened its WNBA Semifinals series with Las Vegas, 1-1, with a 117-91 win over the Aces this evening. With the win, the Mercury are guaranteed to host both Games 3 and 4 this Sunday and next Wednesday, October 6, respectively.
Game 3 tips off at NOON on Sunday at Desert Financial Arena on the campus of Arizona State University, and tickets are currently on sale at PhoenixMercury.com.
Arena location for Game 4 and an on-sale date for tickets will be announced soon.
Phoenix secured its win behind a dominating performance by the team's "Big Three." Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi and Skylar Diggins-Smith combined for 79 of the Mercury's 117 points in the game, led behind Taurasi's 37 points, which set a franchise postseason record. The Mercury tallied 68 points in the first half, setting a WNBA record for most points in a half in a playoff game.
2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalists Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and Skylar Diggins-Smith return to Phoenix this summer, as the trio attempts to lead the Mercury to a WNBA-record tying fourth championship in 2021.
