Memphis Hustle Acquire Returning Player Rights to Lucas Williamson

Memphis, Tenn. - The Memphis Hustle today announced the team acquired the returning player rights to guard Lucas Williamson from the Ontario Clippers for the returning player rights to wing Sean McDermott.

Williamson (6-4, 205) appeared in 28 games (7 starts) with averages of 3.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 15.5 minutes last season with the Ontario Clippers.

The 24-year-old Illinois native averaged 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 27.6 minutes in 150 games over a five-year career at Loyola Chicago. Williamson earned back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year Awards in 2021 and 2022. He also earned 2022 First-team All-MVC honors following a senior season in which he averaged 13.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 32.0 minutes.

McDermott (6-6, 195) appeared in 55 games (20 starts) across three seasons with the Memphis Hustle averaging 10.4 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 37.3% from beyond the arc. The 26-year-old appeared in 18 regular season games with the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2020-2021 season after signing a two-way contract following a four-year career at Butler.
