Meek Hits DL, Bianucci and Mavare Join E-Train

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced Sunday that right-handed reliever Evan Meek was put on the 7-day disabled list retroactive to Thursday, May 16. Infielder Mike Bianucci and right-hander Arlett (Jose) Mavare have joined the Express roster.

Meek was 0-2 with a 6.14 ERA in 13 games with the Express before making a trip to the DL. The right-hander had allowed seven runs (six earned) over his past three outings with the E-Train (4.1 innings). He was 0-0 with three saves and a 1.35 ERA on the road but 0-2 with 10.13 ERA at home.

Bianucci played 84 games with the Express in 2012, posting a .268 average with 14 home runs and 51 RBI. He is in his eighth season with the Rangers organization.

Mavare joins the Express after five games with the Frisco RoughRiders (Double-A). The right-handed reliever has held his opponents scoreless over his last two outings with Frisco (4.0 innings) and had allowed runs in just two of his five appearances.

With the moves, the E-Train now carries 25 players on its active roster.

Round Rock continues its homestand with the series finale of a four-game set with the Sky Sox Sunday afternoon. With first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m., the E-Train will send southpaw Ryan Feierabend (1-0, 5.51 ERA) to the mound to face Colorado Springs starter Chris Volstad (1-0, 4.35 ERA). Sunday will also be H-E-B Kid's Day at Dell Diamond featuring interactive inflatable games, kiddie train rides, a post-game run of the bases and much more.
