Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced Sunday afternoon that top prospect Jurickson Profar has been recalled to Arlington as second baseman Ian Kinsler has been placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Saturday.

Profar was hitting .278 (40-144) at Triple-A Round Rock before his recall to the Rangers. The talented middle infielder was riding an eight-game hitting streak with the Express, including going 3-for-4 in each of his last two games. Profar homered twice on Saturday night against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the first multi-home run game of his professional career in his final game with the E-Train before his promotion.

Kinsler had not started the last two games with the Rangers due to injury although he pinch-ran in Friday's game against Detroit. His trip to the DL is retroactive to Saturday, May 18.

With the move, the Express now has 24 players on its active roster (four on the DL).

The Express opens a four-game set with the Reno Aces (Diamondbacks) on Monday at 7:05 p.m. The E-Train will send right-hander Jake Brigham (0-1, 16.71 ERA) to the mound to face Chase Anderson (3-4, 5.52 ERA). Monday night will be $1.00 hot dogs and sodas at Dell Diamond, presented by Mrs Baird's as well as Tyson Foods Night.
