Brandon, MB- The Victoria Royals fell 4-2 to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday night at Westman Place as Tyler Soy set the new Royals' record for most career points at 249 (120g-129a).

Record Breaker - With Tyler Soy's goal tonight, he passed alumnus Jack Walker to set the new Royals' record for most career points. Soy has earned 249 points (120g-129a) over 265 games while Walker had recorded 248 (101g-147a) in 318 contests. The franchise record is held by Brandon Magee who scored 264 points (113g-151a) over 318 games with Victoria and the Chilliwack Bruins.
Hot Streak - A pair of Royals extended their point streaks in tonight's game. With a goal, Victoria's Matthew Phillips has now recorded 28 points (11g-17a) in 13 games and is one contest from tying the franchise mark set by Mark Santorelli in 2006 with Chilliwack. Jared Legien added an assist and has now earned four points (2g-2a) in four consecutive games.
Pacific Prospects - Two Los Angeles Kings' prospects faced off against each other tonight. Victoria's Chaz Reddekopp was selected by the Kings the in seventh round, 187th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, while Brandon's Kale Clague was drafted in Round 2, 51st overall, in 2016.
We Know You - The Wheat Kings have four former members of the Royals within their organization. Forward Gunnar Wegleitner and goaltender Dylan Myskiw joined the team this season, while forward Baron Thompson has been a member of Brandon for the past two campaigns. General Manager Grant Armstrong, who served as the Royals' Assistant General Manager, Player Personnel, was hired from Victoria in 2016.
Next Up - Victoria will now travel to Saskatoon to face the Blades on Tuesday. Puck drop is slated for 6:05 p.m. PDT at the SaskTel Centre. The Royals will return home on Saturday, October 28th against the Vancouver Giants.
