MEDFORD, OR - Unable to find success at the plate, the Medford Rogues fell to the Bend Elks 4-2 in the second game of the series totaling only four hits on the night at Harry and David Field.
Bend scored two runs in the second inning and two runs in fourth while pitching seven scoreless innings to even the three game series at one apiece.
Rogues starter Mac Acker (2-2) pitched six innings, allowing six hits and four runs with three strikeouts on the night while earning his second loss of the season.
Medford scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning to tie the game off a two RBI single by Rogues catcher Colin Sowers. Outfielder Spencer Smith recorded the only multiple-hit performance for the Rogues going 2-3 on the night.
With the loss, the Rogues fall to 10-14 in the West Coast League with the Elks improving to 19-10 overall on the season.
After the series against Bend, the Rogues prepare for their longest road trip on the season traveling to three cities in eight days starting with Klamath Falls on Monday.
Action returns Sunday evening for game three as these two teams battle for the series win. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
