Walla Walla, WA: July 7, 2013 The Gems benefitted from 2 RBI's each by Jack Karraker (Fresno City College) and Cody Hough (University of California Riverside) and broke a six game losing streak with a 4-3 win over Walla Walla at Borleske Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Brandon Horth (Loyola Marymount University) pitched five innings of shutout baseball for his 4th win of the year for the Gems. Donny Zandona (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) fell to 1-2 as he took the loss in relief for the Sweets who fall to 16-11 on the year. Gems improve to 13-15 overall in the 2013 season.
Gems next home game is Monday, July 8th vs. the Medford Rogues. Monday's promotion: Kids get in free (Sponsored by Kla-Mo-Ya Casino). Each Monday night game during the 2013 Gems home season will be Kids Night.
