Klamath Falls Gems News Release
The Klamath Falls Gems Home Opener will be on Friday, June 12th versus the defending WCL Champion Bellingham Bells. The Gems will play seven (7) games on the road prior to their opening weekend home series against the Bells. On June 4th, the 2015 Gems will debut in Medford against the Rogues, in a pre-season game, before heading to Yakima to open League play with a three game series against the Pippins. Then will return to Harry and David Field in Medford for a three-game set versus the Rogues on June 8, 9, and 10, before playing their home opener on the 12th at Klamath's Kiger Stadium.
The Schedule features five weekend series': Bellingham (June 12-14), Walla Walla (June 26-28), Victoria (July 10-12), Corvallis (July 24-26), Kitsap (July 31-Aug2). "This is the best schedule we've had for the Gems'," said General Manager and team co-owner Lisa Walker. "17 of our 29 home games will be played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday allowing fans a great opportunity to see the Gems play this year."

The Gems previously announced they had renewed their commitment to Klamath Falls by extending their Lease for the use of Kiger Stadium for an additional five years. The original lease, signed in 2011, was set to expire at the end of the 2015 season. "The extension should remove any doubts as to the Gems' commitment to the community," said Gems' General Manager and co-owner Lisa Walker. "We've enjoyed our time in Klamath Falls. The people have been very welcoming and have embraced the team and our organization. Our Host Families have been remarkable and have provided a fantastic opportunity for our players to become a part of the community. We wanted to send a clear message to our fans, business partners and community members that we are here to stay. We also feel this commitment will help the Kiger Association with their long-term planning and fundraising efforts with the knowledge that their primary tenant will be here for many years to come," concluded Walker. The Lease now runs through the 2020 season.
