
Mechanics shot down by Mallards

FRASER, MI-The Quad City Mallards score five unanswered goals en route to a 5-2 win tonight at the Great Lakes Sports City Superior Arena in front of 1,845 fans.
The Mechanics Peter Szabo started the scoring at 14:41 of the first period. Brent Gretzky and Kyle Kos tallied the assists. At 1:23 of the second period, Matt Smith made it 2-0 Mechanics when on the power play he fired a shot from the point. David Herring and Greg Bullock tallied the assists.
From there on out the Mallards went onto score five straight goals including three in the third period to ice the game.
Rod Branch, making his 100th UHL start, made 24 saves in defeat.
The Mechanics return to action next Friday and Saturday in Richmond, game time for both games is 7:30 p.m. The next home game is February 8th when the Rockford IceHogs come into town for a Ladies night. All ladies can get into the game for just $5!
