Mechanics Fall to Fury

Fraser, MI – Despite a 3-0 lead and outshooting Muskegon, the Mechanics dropped a 5-3 decision to the defending Colonial Cup Champs at The Garage.

Motor City opened up the scoring at 14:35 of the first on a goal from Jeff Goldie. Dan Price tallied his third goal of the season to give the Mechanics a 2-0 lead heading into the second period.

Captain Blair Manning found the back of the net just 54 seconds into the third to give the Mechanics a 3-0 lead. Bill Zalba netted his first of two on the evening to put the Fury on the board. Three minutes later, B.J. Gaustad scored to bring Muskegon within one. Zalba scored his second of the night to tie the game and it was Jeff Nelson who tallied the eventual game winner at 16:15 of the second period. Through a penalty-less third period, Robin Bouchard notched an empty netter with 24 seconds remaining in the game for the 5-3 victory.
