QUEBEC CITY, QC - With two outs and two strikes, Quebec OF James McOwen hit a go-ahead two-run triple in the bottom of the eighth inning. It propelled Quebec to a 4-3 lead, which they held until the final pitch.

McOwen's game-winner was the final act in a game that featured three lead changes, with the Champions holding the advantage deep into the later innings.

With the Capitales up by one headed to the fourth inning, the two teams exchanged runs in that frame.

Ottawa began by scoring two to take the lead, on an RBI single by INF Jordan Caillouet, and then INF Vinny Guglietti's RBI fielder's choice in the next at bat. OF Phildrick Llewellyn responded by scoring in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game 2-2.

OF Brian Portelli took a lead for Ottawa with a gapper into left-centre field to give the Champions a 3-2 lead, but all it took was one swing from McOwen in the eighth to wrap up the game.

This 11-game road trip is now almost over for the Champions. Ottawa finishes their series against Quebec Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at Stade Canac before returning home on Friday, August 24.

Tickets for all Champions home games are available at www.ottawachampions.com, in-person at the RCGT Park box office, or by calling 613-745-BALL (2255).
