
McNulty Garners Goalie of the Week Award

RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-Scorpions goaltender Kyle McNulty has been named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week. This is the first such award for the Scorpions net minder this season.
In a busy four game week for New Mexico, McNulty backstopped the Scorpions to a 3-1 record. Over the games against Amarillo, Rio Grande Valley, Corpus Christi and Odessa, the Wakefield, R.I. native flashed a 3.22 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.
"This is well deserved for Kyle," said Scorps' head coach Randy Murphy. "Since joining our team he has played very well and given us a solid chance to win night in and night out."
Since coming to the Scorpions McNulty has appeared in 12 games posting a 6-3-0 record with a 2.75 goals against average and .912 save percentage. He got his first start on February 6th and has now started nine consecutive games.
In his third start against Odessa on February 11th, McNulty made 29 saves for his first career shutout. In the nine games he has started between the pipes, the second year player has held opponents to three goals or less seven times.
New Mexico returns to the Santa Ana Star Center on Wednesday night against Amarillo. It is $1 soda night, so bring your friends and drink up.
On Friday March 6th the Scorpions will host the annual Lobo Club night. Special UNM themed jerseys will be worn and auctioned off following the game to benefit the Lobo Club.
