Tri-City Americans News Release
KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed forward Deagan McMillan to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. McMillan was selected 25th overall by Tri-City in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft held on April 22.
"With good size and excellent offensive skills, Deagan embodies the definition of a power forward," stated Tory. "He plays a strong 200-foot game and brings leadership to our team. We are excited that he has chosen the Americans and WHL to pursue his hockey aspirations.
"We welcome Deagan and his family to the Americans."
McMillan is a native of Vernon, BC and played last season with Delta Hockey Academy Bantam Prep. The six-foot-one and 178-pound forward totaled 51 points (20 goals and 31 assists) and 63 penalty minutes in 27 games played last season.
"I'm extremely happy to sign with Tri-City and have this opportunity to play in the WHL," stated McMillan. "I know two former Americans players and they have told me it's a top-notch organization to play for."
McMillan is the second 2020 WHL Bantam Draft pick to sign with the Americans. His teammate and the draft's fourth-overall selection, Lukas Dragicevic, signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement with Tri-City on Monday.
