
McKinney's Spark Helps Turn Tide for Storm

(Summerside, PE) The Summerside STORM decided to start Islander Doug McKinney to provide a spark for the team and fans and the move helped the STORM go out to a 28-10 first quarter lead enroute to a 107-86 win over the Moncton Miracles Sunday afternoon before 1,602 at Credit Union Place in Summerside.
Greg Plummer scored a team franchise record 40 points to go along with 7 assists and 8 three point shots to lead the STORM. Antonio Ballard had another solid game with 22 points and 14 rebounds while Al Stewart had 10 assists and 9 points.
Moncton was led by Darrell Wonge and Sylvania Watkings who both scored 18 points.
Bill Stordy won the 50-50 Draw on the afternoon to win half of the $2,070 total pot. Other winners included Shannon Lonergan, Emma Vos, Haley Collister, and Alexa Vos who all won a Subway Card and tickets to the next STORM game while Greg Muirhead had his name entered in the trip for two to Porta Plata in the Shoot to Win Contest.
