On Sunday afternoon the Rainmen continued their Ontario road-trip in London as they faced the 8-0 Lightning in a rematch of last year's NBLC Finals. It was a meeting of streaking teams, as the Rainmen looked to win their 4th straight under Coach Rob Spon, while the Lightning looked to tie the NBLC record of 9 straight wins, set last season by the Rainmen.

Early on the Rainmen were led by the front court duo of Antonio Tisby and Quinnel Brown who combined for 11 early points to give Halifax a 17-12 lead midway through the quarter. London was able to come back and take a 22-19 lead going into the 2nd quarter.

Brandon Robinson had eight points in the 2nd quarter, but a buzzer-beating three for Lightning guard Osvaldo Jeanty gave London a 52-42 lead at the half.

In the 3rd, Brandon Robinson and Hillary Haley both had six and the Rainmen were able to cut the Lightning lead in half, as they trailed 74-69 going into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Lightning guard Adrian Moss took over, scoring 12 points and adding two assists in the quarter and leading the Lightning to the 108-95 victory.

The Rainmen were led by double-doubles from forwards Quinnel Brown with 16 points and 10 rebounds followed by Brandon Robinson who had 15 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Hillary Haley chipped in 14 off the Rainmen bench and Joey Haywood added 13.

London's depth proved to be their strength, as the Lightning bench outscored the Rainmen bench 62-31. The Lightning were paced by Adrian Moss, who came off the bench to score 21 points and dish out 4 assists, former Halifax Rainmen sharpshooter Rodney Buford added 17, Jermaine Blackburn and Jeremy Williams each had 14 and Elvin Mims had a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds.

The Rainmen fall to 5-5 on the season and will look to get back to their winning ways at home next weekend.
