Miracles Get Blown Away by the Storm

December 2, 2012 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Moncton Miracles News Release

(Summerside, PEI) The Moncton Miracles lost a hard one to the Summerside Storm with a final score of 86-107.

Moncton came out flat in the first quarter and was outscored 10 to 28, with Greg Plummer scoring 15 points alone. The team picked it up in the second quarter but it was not enough to dig themselves out of the hole and finished up the half down 20, 34-54.

Summerside continued to hold on strong to their lead for the rest of the game. With Moncton shooting under 10% from the 3-point this game and only 65% from the free-throw line in the first half they were far from what was needed to pull out a win in this game. The Storm came out stronger at both ends of the court and was dominating the boards making it hard for the Miracles to take control of the game at any point.

The Miracles trailed by as much of 30 points in the second half but would continue to try and fight back until the end. Moncton managed to outscore Summerside in the final quarter but it was not enough to make up for the previous three quarters.

Sylvania Watkins led the way for the Miracles with 18 points and 16 rebounds while Darrell Wonge scored 18 points. Isaac Butts followed with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Greg Plummer was the top scorer for the Storm with 40 points. Antonio Ballard was right behind him with 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Technical fouls were given to Miracles Sylvania Watkins and Darrell Wonge who was eventually fouled out of the game. A flagrant foul was given to Storm's Greg Plummer.

The Miracles play their next game at home against the Windsor Express on Sunday, December 9th. Tip-off is 2pm at the Moncton Coliseum.
