(Peterborough, ON) - On Thursday, February 8, the Peterborough Petes hosted the Mississauga Steelheads for Indigenous Heritage Night at the PMC. The Steeleads scored a late empty net goal to win the game by a score of 5-3.

The Petes were using a specially designed logo in-game and on social media in honour of Indigenous Heritage Night. Designed by Kory Parkin (@parkin613, @paints by parkin), the logo highlights the traditional name of Peterborough, Nogojiwanong, meaning "place at the foot of the rapids".

Ryder McIntyre led the way for the Petes with two assists on the night, while Chase Lefebvre, Quinton Pagé, and Braydon McCallum each had a goal. Liam Ladds, Nico Addy, Tommy Purdeller, and Jonathan Melee all had an assist in the game. Liam Sztuska stopped 52/56 shots faced.

The Petes are back in action on Friday, February 9, when they travel to the Nation's Capital to take on the Ottawa 67's. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the TD Place. Fans can see the game at the Official Road Game Watch Party at Shoeless Joe's Peterborough. The game will also be broadcasted on YourTV Peterborough and Freq 90.5.
