Birmingham Stallions quarterback Alex McGough, Michigan Panthers linebacker Frank Ginda and Stallions tight end La'Michael Pettway earned OurSports Central United States Football League Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Unsung Hero of the Week, respectively, for week eight of the USFL season.

McGough earned the honor for the third time this season, completing 24 of 35 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns, and added 19 rushing yards in Birmingham's 27-24 victory over the Philadelphia Stars. His favorite target, Davion Davis, caught four of those throws for 120 yards and one score.

Honorable mention goes to New Orleans Breakers wide receiver Johnnie Dixon who grabbed nine receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns in the Breakers' 24-20 win over the Michigan Panthers that snapped their three-game losing streak.

Defensively, Ginda finished with 11 tackles, two for a loss, and one interception in the Panthers' setback to the Breakers. He earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the third time this season.

Memphis Showboats linebacker Greg Reaves earned an honorable mention with three tackles, two passes defensed and one interception in the Showboats' 25-16 victory over the New Jersey Generals which extended their winning streak to five games after an 0-3 start to the season.

Stallions tight end La'Michael Pettway caught the game-winning, seven-yard touchdown reception with 28 seconds left to lift the Stallions over Philadelphia.

Pettway played college football at Arkansas and Iowa State. He competed in the USFL last year with the Michigan Panthers before signing with the Stallions on April 20th this season.

His game winning catch extended the Stallions' winning streak to three straight games.
