Birmingham Stallions quarterback Alex McGough, Michigan Panthers linebacker Frank Ginda, and New Orleans Breakers running back Wes Hills were named the OurSports Central United States Football League Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Unsung Hero of the Week, respectively, for week two of the USFL season.

McGough completed 21 of 28 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns and added 32 yards on the ground in the Stallions' 42-2 victory over the Memphis Showboats. His favorite target was tight end Jace Sternberger who caught five of those throws for 127 yards and one touchdown. McGough is filling in for starter J'Mar Smith who is out for the season with a hand injury.

McGough played at Florida International and was a seventh round draft pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He caught on with the Houston Texans in 2019 and 2020 and is playing in his second season with the Stallions.

McGough dominated against the Showboats:

Honorable mention goes to Michigan Panthers running back Reggie Corbin who carried 11 times for 131 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers' 24-10 triumph over the Philadelphia Stars.

Defensively, Ginda finished with 10 total tackles, one interception and one pass defended in the Panthers victory.

He played for San Jose State and led the NCAA in tackles in 2017. Ginda went on to play for the Alliance of American Football's San Diego Fleet in 2019 and XFL's New York Guardians in 2020. He is playing his second season in the USFL with the Panthers.

Ginda provided a key interception off Stars quarterback Case Cookus in the second quarter:

Birmingham Stallions linebacker Rashad Smith earned an honorable mention by contributing five total tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.

Wes Hills ran 14 yards for the game-winning touchdown as the Breakers survived the Houston Gamblers, 38-31, Saturday. For the game, Hills rolled up 110 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

He played for the Detroit Lions in 2019 and with the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2020 and 2021. He signed with the Breakers on February 17th of this year.
