Pittsfield Suns News Release
PITTSFIELD, MA (July 15, 2015) - Jamin McCann and the Pittsfield Suns shut out the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs Wednesday evening at Wahconah Park. McCann pitched a complete game in the 3-0 victory for the Suns.
The Suns were off to an early start in the second inning and were able to string together three hits to plate two runs in the frame. Cam O'Neill reached base on a single and would score on an RBI double from Hunter Bross for Pittsfield's first run of the night. After a wild pitch would put Bross at third base, Jeremy Giles doubled to plate the runner to make it 2-0.
It would end up that would be the only two runs the Suns would need, but Matt Morales would score an insurance run in the seventh inning, to make the final score 3-0 Suns.
McCann kept the Dirt Dawgs at bay all night long, silencing their bats and only allowing four hits in a complete game shut out in his second win of the season. Wachusett's Steve Colella would be charged with the loss.
The Suns continue this three game homestand tomorrow night at Wahconah Park when they face off against the Brockton Rox. Gates will open at 6 :00PM with the first pitch scheduled for 7:00.
