McBorrough Returns to Barnstormers

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have re-signed linebacker Ian McBorrough to the 2024 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.
McBorrough (6-2, 230, Morgan State) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his third season with the team. Collegiately, McBorrough had a successful four year career with the Morgan State University Bears. McBorrough earned numerous accolades during his time with the Bears and finished ranked fifth place in all-time tackles after collecting 252 total tackles, ten sacks, two interceptions, ten fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, and 18.5 tackles for loss in 44 games landing a workout with the Seattle Seahawks.
Making his Indoor Football League (IFL) debut in 2022, McBorrough appeared in 16 games with the Barnstormers collecting 83.5 total tackles, two sacks, and 17 tackles for loss. Despite an injury early on in the 2023 season, McBorrough appeared in 10 games collecting 46 total tackles and five tackles for loss solidifying himself as a true leader.
"Ian is the heart and soul of our team," said Head Coach Mogensen. "His leadership skills are unparalleled to anyone I've ever coached. Similar to DJP, he worked so incredibly hard prior to last season and then spent the majority of the season playing through injuries. It wasn't until the last two games that the real fully healthy Ian McBorrough was able to step into a Barnstormers uniform and he was electric. He has the ability to be the best linebacker in the IFL and with a fully healthy season he finally should get that opportunity in a higher league."
McBorrough will return to Des Moines to join the Iowa Barnstormers 2024 Training Camp in the Spring.
