MACON, GA- After taking three of four possible points from the first-place Peoria Rivermen this past weekend, the Macon Mayhem will now look to earn a pair of wins in their home-and-home against the Fayetteville Marksmen.

WEEKEND RECAP

In a rematch of last year's President's Cup Final, the Mayhem and Rivermen battled hard in two games that went to overtime this weekend. On Friday night, the Mayhem fell in a low-scoring 2-1 affair, but they bounced back with a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory on Saturday. John Siemer tallied two goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal in overtime, in Saturday's win to propel the Mayhem to victory. He led the team with four points on the weekend, with Dakota Klecha right behind him with three points. After being placed on waivers by Peoria last week, goaltender Peter Di Salvo stopped 28 of the 32 shots he faced on his way to victory over his former team on Saturday.

WEEKEND PREVIEW

The Mayhem finish their six-game road trip at Fayetteville on Friday, and they return to the Macon Coliseum to face that same Marksmen team on Saturday, March 31. Saturday is Pucks-N-Paws Night and Wiener Dog Races, and the team will also be offering the Carrabba's Family Four-Pack through Friday at 5:00 PM.

For Pucks-N-Paws Night on Saturday, fans are allowed to bring their dogs to the game and sit in specifically marked "dog sections" in the arena. Fans do not need to purchase a ticket for their dogs, but all humans will need a ticket to the game. In these specific sections, there will be water bowls and dog treats provided, and there will also be sections outside of the arena and both the north and south side of the arena for dogs to use the bathroom. There will also be dogs available for adoption in the lobby throughout the game.

The team is also hosting wiener dog races on the ice during the intermission. Fans can register their wiener dogs at MaconMayhem.com. The winner of the race will receive a puppy gift basket and a replica Mayhem jersey from the Mac Shack.

Fayetteville Marksmen Preview

2017-2018 Team Record: 11-34-6 (28 points; 10th Place)

Season Series (Last Meeting): Mayhem are 7-0-1 vs. Marksmen (4-1 Mayhem win on March 17)

Leading Scorer: Jake Hauswirth (51 games played, 25 goals, 37 assists, 62 points)

Starting Goaltender: Patrick Spano (with Fayetteville: 23 GP, 3-19-1 record, 4.48 goals against average, .886 save percentage)

The Marksmen have struggled all season to earn victories, but it has been even tougher sledding over the past couple of months. The team has won just two of their last 20 contests, and after snapping their 12-game losing streak on March 16, they have now lost three straight games. Fayetteville struggles to get on the scoreboard, as they rank 10th in goals for per game at 2.67. They also rank last in goals against per game, as they allow 4.55 goals per game. Their special teams are also near the bottom of the league, as they rank ninth in power play percentage at 15.64% and 10th in penalty kill percentage at 76.64%. Despite the team's struggles, Jake Hauswirth continues to be one of the best players in the league. After posting three points in two games this past weekend, he now has 25 goals, 37 assists and 62 points in 51 games this season.
