Macon Mayhem News Release
Jake Trask, scored a goal and assist against his former team in leading the Macon Mayhem to a 3-2 victory over the Peoria Rivermen in game one of the Southern Professional Hockey League quarterfinals Wednesday night at the Macon Coliseum.
Game two of the best of three series is Friday in Peoria.
Cody Dion of Peoria opened the scoring at 9:07 of the first period. Jackson Brewer tied it at 15:09.
The Mayhem took the lead on Shawn Skelly's goal at 6:46 of the second period assisted by Trask and Daniel Gentzler. But Peoria tied the seesaw contest when defenseman Dave Pszenyczny scored at 8:08. with 1:15 left in the second period, Skelly returned the favor to Trask assisting on his game winning goal, along with Mark Rivera.
Goaltender Garrett Bartus had another outstanding game which has become his custom. he turned aside 41 of the 43 shots he faced including a dozen in the third period when Peoria outshot the Mayhem 12-5.
