Macon Mayhem News Release

MACON, GA - The Mayhem will be wearing specialty, one-of-a-kind Cancer Awareness jerseys on Saturday, November 24th when they take on the Birmingham Bulls at the Macon Centreplex. The game will feature the Mayhem's Cancer Awareness Night presented by the American Cancer Society.

"We are pleased to be hosting Cancer Night with the American Cancer Society," Mayhem General Manager Blair Floyd said. "We're excited to have this chance to give back to one of the pillars of our organization and the community. I believe cancer has affected every person in some way, so raising awareness and money is extremely important to us so that we can one day find a cure."

The Mayhem have partnered with the American Cancer Society to help raise awareness about the prevalence of prostate cancer in the United States and around the world. To help do their part, the Mayhem are hosting #MayhemSlashesCancer Night this Saturday to raise funds for vital research to help men all over the world. The specialty jerseys worn by the players throughout the night will be sold at a live auction in the Macon Centreplex lobby immediately after the game.

All month long, the Mayhem players have been participating in MOvember. As the month of November has gone along, progress pictures have been posted on Mayhem social media. Liking, commenting and sharing the pictures has earned the players votes, and the player with the most votes at the end of the month will receive a donation in their name to the American Cancer Society.

Many of the players have also shared their personal stories on how cancer has affected them, and have outlined the special individuals they will be fighting for on Saturday night. A handful of players have done even more for the cause, like forwards John Siemer and Caleb Cameron and defenseman Nick Minerva. Siemer and Cameron have each set up sites where cancer donations can be made, and Minerva cut off his hair and donated it to cancer survivors. Fans are encouraged to share their own cancer stories using #MayhemSlashesCancer.

Family four-packs are also available for Saturday night's game. They include four hot dogs, four cokes, four bags of chips, four tickets, and a free large pizza at Amici all for $54. Puck drop is set for 7:35 pm ET at the Macon Centreplex. Tickets can be purchased.
