Mississippi in town for Everyone Wins Night and Game of Thrones Night
MACON, GA- The Macon Mayhem will try to extend their three-game win streak this weekend, as the Mississippi RiverKings come to the Macon Coliseum for games on Friday, February 2nd and Saturday, February 3rd.
WEEKEND RECAP
The Mayhem took wins this past weekend from the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs and the Fayetteville Marksmen. The team battled hard on Friday, defeating Roanoke 3-1 after Darren McCormick scored the game-winning goal and an empty net goal in the third period. The team defeated Fayetteville 6-3 on the road on Saturday - a game that included five goals on 20 power play chances between the two teams. Jake Trask scored two goals - including a penalty shot goal - and tallied one assist to lead the Mayhem with three points. Charlie Finn started both games, earning his eighth and ninth wins of the season.
WEEKEND PREVIEW
The Mayhem host Mississippi for the first time this season at the Macon Coliseum for two games. Friday, February 2nd is Everyone Wins Night. If the Mayhem lose the game on Friday night, every fan in attendance can use their ticket from Friday's game for free admission into the team's game on Sunday, February 11th against the Peoria Rivermen. The Macon Coliseum will also be offering $3 Coors Light pints and $2 hot dogs on Friday. Saturday, February 3rd is Game of Thrones Night. The Mayhem will be wearing specialty Game of Thrones-themed uniforms, and the jerseys will be auctioned off immediately following the game.

Mississippi has struggled with ECHL loans recently, which has hurt their latest form. They started the season 10-3-0 and were in first place, but they have won just five games since December 8th and have fallen to 15-16-2. The RiverKings have scored the seventh-most goals per game at 2.88 per game, but they do a good job preventing goals, as they rank third in goals against at 3.09 per game.
TRANSACTION NEWS
After returning to the Mayhem lineup for one game, defenseman Eric Shand has been loaned to the Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL. In 17 games for the Mayhem this season, Shand has one assist and is plus-five. He played 18 games for the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL before returning from his loan on Saturday, January 27th, and he recorded one assist in his time in Rapid City.
