
Maya Moore Scores a Season-High 26 Points as Minnesota Tops Connecticut, 90-67

- With tonight's win, Minnesota improves to 7-3 for just the second time in franchise history (2009), tying San Antonio for the best record in the Western Conference.
- After leading by one at halftime, the Lynx took over in the third quarter, utilizing two runs to extend their lead. They started things off with a 9-0 run to take a 53-43 lead, before closing out the quarter on a 12-0 run. Minnesota held Connecticut to just six points on just 2-of-18 shooting, outscoring the Sun 23-6 in the frame.
- Playing against three of her former Connecticut teammates, Maya Moore tied a WNBA season-high with six three-pointers on the night. Her 26 points set a new season high and is a season-high for any Lynx player this season.
- Tonight's game featured a matchup of the reigning WNBA Players of the Month for the Western and Eastern Conferences, Rebekkah Brunson and Tina Charles. Brunson got the better of Charles tonight, totaling 12 points and 10 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season, while the Lynx held Charles to just six points and eight rebounds, snapping her double-double streak at six. Tonight's double-double was Brunson's 19th in a Lynx uniform.
- Minnesota connected on a season-high ten three-point shots on the night, led by Moore's six. The Lynx shot a season-best 50.0% from beyond the arc, topping their previous high of 42.9% in their last game against Tulsa on 6/30.
- Seimone Augustus continued her torrid play, scoring 20 points (8-of-15 FG), her second game this year with 20+ points. Coming into tonight, Augustus was shooting 51.4% in Lynx wins, compared to 32.6% in Lynx losses.
- Lindsay Whalen dished out eight assists on the night, as well as nine points and four rebounds. Tonight is the seventh time she's dished out 5+ assists.
- Minnesota dominated Connecticut in the paint tonight, outscoring the Sun 38-22 in points in the paint. The Lynx entered tonight's game averaging 37.33 points in the paint per game, third in the WNBA, while holding opponents to just 30.67 points in the paint, second in the league.
- Just one season after allowing opponents to shoot 44.6% from the floor, the Lynx lead the WNBA in defensive field goal percentage, allowing opponents to convert on just 39.7% of their shots, including holding the Sun to just 34.6% shooting tonight. Only once in franchise history have the Lynx held opponents to under 40% shooting over the span of a season (2001, 39.0%). Furthermore, Minnesota is first in opponent three-point shooting (.301 percent) and second in points allowed per game (72.6 ppg).
