Maya Moore Ranks Second in WNBA All-Star Balloting Early Returns

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The WNBA today announced the early returns of 2014 WNBA All-Star Balloting presented by Boost Mobile. Lynx forward Maya Moore has received the second most votes in the WNBA (16,509), ranking behind only Chicago's Elena Delle Donne (16,542). Seimone Augustus (2nd, 10,024) and Lindsay Whalen (3rd, 8,898) represent the Lynx amongst Western Conference guards, while Janel McCarville (6th, 5,048) and Rebekkah Brunson (10th, 2,932) close out the Lynx front court representatives.

Moore leads the WNBA this season with 23.5 points per game and three-pointers made (33). She leads the Lynx in rebounds with 8.0 rebounds per game and ranks third in assists (3.3). Augustus ranks sixth in the league in scoring (18.1) and seventh in field goal percentage (.541), while Whalen (15.6 ppg, 5.4 apg) ranks fourth in the league in assists. McCarville (7.5 ppg on 41.8% shooting ) ranks second amongst post with 3.5 assists per game.

The Phoenix Mercury will host the Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star Game at US Airways Center on Saturday, July 19, and will be nationally televised on ESPN, with tip-off at 3:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. CT).

The WNBA will announce the starters on July 8 during the nationally televised game on ESPN2 featuring the Los Angeles Sparks at the Minnesota Lynx (9 p.m. ET). Reserves, which are voted on by the WNBA's head coaches, will be announced on ESPN2 on July 15, during the game between the Sparks and the Indiana Fever (8 p.m. ET).

Fans can vote for up to 10 players per day on WNBA.com, mobile devices, and the WNBA Center Court App presented by Boost Mobile, and can share those All-Star picks with friends on Facebook and followers on Twitter, encouraging others to cast their ballots as well. Fans also can cast votes on Facebook and Twitter, voting for one player per day using the designated hashtag #WNBABALLOT.

Balloting will conclude at midnight ET on Wednesday, July 2.
