Last time out ...
Starter Coleman Stephens (2-0) completely shut down the Frontier Greys (0-3) to earn his second victory of the season and allow the Freedom (4-0) to remain undefeated in a 5-1 victory over the Greys Tuesday night. Stephens fired eight scoreless innings allowing three hits while fanning seven Greys batters. Stephens picked up his second victory of the season to improve to 2-0. The Freedom drew four walks in the first inning and seven in the game. Michael Pair drove in a run in the first with a bases loaded walk and a run in the third on a double. A Ryan Solberg RBI single in the fifth stretched the lead to 3-0 and Sam Eberle's sacrifice fly in the seventh made it 4-0 in favor of Florence. A Jake Luce RBI single in the eighth completed the scoring for Florence. The Greys tallied a run in the ninth but it was too little, too late. With the win, the Freedom move to 4-0 for the second straight season.
For Starters...
Casey Henn is coming off a win against the Joliet Slammers on May 15. He went five innings, scattering eight hits, allowing only two earned runs while striking out three in the Freedom's 6-5 win. He has one previous start against the Frontier Greys, picking up a no-decision last year on June 22 in a 6-5 loss for Florence. Henn went six innings, giving up five runs on six hits in that game. Henn was one of the top pitchers in the entire Frontier League in 2014. He led the Freedom with nine wins and tallied a team-leading 111 strike outs, good for fourth in the league. His 2.72 ERA in 2014 was tied for the sixth lowest in the league while his 122.2 innings pitched was good for the third most in the league. Some of his notable outings included seven innings of one-run ball against Lake Erie on June 4, seven innings of shutout ball against Windy City on June 11, seven innings of shutout ball against River City on June 29, seven and a third innings of shutout ball against Lake Erie on July 18, seven innings out shutout ball against Normal on August 9, seven innings of one-run ball against Joliet on August 15 and seven and two thirds innings of shutout ball against Windy City on August 21. Henn had a sensational rookie season for the Freedom, posting a 5-0 record with a 3.67 ERA for Florence fresh out of Wright State University. In nine appearances, eight starts, Henn struck out 38 batters in 49 innings while only allowing only 39 hits.

The Freedom have scored 14 of their 24 runs on the season in the 3rd and 4th innings. 7 runs in each.
Frontier League Player of the Week...
Cody Bishop was named Frontier League Player of the Week for May 14-17. In his first season in the Frontier League as a member of the Florence Freedom, he recorded at least one hit in each game of his team's three-game sweep of the Joliet Slammers to open the 2015 season. On Friday, Bishop went 3-4 with a home run, two doubles, one RBI, and one run scored in Florence's 6-5 victory. He then followed that performance with a 2-3 night on Saturday hitting his second home run of the season while scoring two runs and driving in one in a 10-4 rout of Joliet to complete the sweep.
We're going streaking...
With a win tonight the Freedom would push their season-opening winning streak to five games. Their longest winning streak throughout the 2014 season was four games. Their longest winning streak in 2013 was five.
Excellent Eberle....
Sam Eberle is picking up right where he left off in 2014, hitting .376 (6-16) to start the year with two home runs and four RBI. He and Bishop each have two long balls, the only homers hit by Florence so far this season.

Daniel Fraga is wearing jersey #61 tonight. The jersey is auctioned off to benefit the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky.
