Notes
Six straight for Hogg - Mavericks' rookie forward Kris Hogg has turned into an offensive asset as of late, scoring seven points in six consecutive games on four goals and three assists. Since being named the CHL's Rookie of the Month in October, Hogg struggled through the middle of the season, scoring just one point in 25 games leading up to his current streak. The Sicamous, British Columbia native leads Mavs forwards in plus/minus rating this season at +15. Hogg was the 4th round pick (121st overall) of the Calgary Flames in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Top Trio - The Mavericks have three players currently leading the team in goals this season. Andrew Courtney, John-Scott Dickson and Ed McGrane have all scored 23 goals for the Mavericks this season. Courtney ranks second amongst all CHL rookies with his 23 goals.
Effinger wins - Mavs goaltender Charlie Effinger tied Robby Nolan's franchise record for wins in a season with his 26th win of the 2011-12 season on Friday against the Rapid City Rush.
Conference race - The Mavericks hold a one-point lead for third place in the Turner Conference over the Rapid City Rush. The Mavericks went 4-0-1 against the Rush this season. With 11 games remaining on the regular season schedule, Missouri holds a three-point lead over the Quad City Mallards for the final playoff spot in the conference and trail the first place Evansville IceMen and Fort Wayne Komets by nine points, with two games at-hand over the two top teams in the conference.
Going for 100 - With their next win, the Mavericks will have won 100 regular season games in franchise history. Over their three-year history, the Mavericks are 99-69-17, for a .581 regular season winning percentage and 215 points in 185 games and making the playoffs in both of their first seasons.
Lewis out for season - Mavs forward Carlyle Lewis was placed on the season-ending injured reserve Wednesday afternoon. Lewis requires hip surgery that will keep him out for the remainder of the 2011-12 CHL regular season and 2012 CHL Playoffs. Lewis is the Mavericks career leader in penalty minutes (548) and scored the first goal in Missouri Mavericks history on October 16, 2009 against the Rapid City Rush.
