Bloomington's Jon Booras Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (March 5, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Bloomington Blaze forward Jon Booras has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending March 4, 2012.

The Billings, Montana native's 400th professional hockey game (388 in Bloomington with the Blaze and PraireThunder) could not have been scripted any better as Booras scored a hat trick in his team's 6-2 win in Evansville over the Turner Conference leading IceMen. His big offensive day also accounted for his 150th professional goal.

Booras finished the week with four goals, one helper, and a +3 plus/minus rating while tallying two game winning goals. The bulk of his success last week came over the weekend where he scored the game winning goal in a 3-1 win over Tulsa on Friday night and then had the hat trick with a +4 plus/minus rating on Sunday.

The 5-11, 180-pound forward is tied for the Blaze team lead with 44 points (22-22=44) in 43 games. After missing more than a month with an injury, Booras returned in early February and has been strong with seven goals and six assists in 13 games since his return.
