The Mavericks and Mallards meet for a home-and-home series starting this Friday at Independence Events Center. Missouri is 2-0-0 against the Mallards this season and both wins have been by one goal. The Mavericks hung on for a 5-4 shootout win over Quad City last weekend in one of the most entertaining games of the season. The Mavericks are 2-2-0 at home against the Mallards all-time, but Missouri has never lost in Quad City going 5-0-0. Quad City is currently just one point behind the Mavericks for third place in the Turner Conference.

Missouri heads to Evansville on Sunday to take on the first-place IceMen. Evansville is currently five points ahead of the Mavericks in the Turner Conference standings. The IceMen have won the first two games of the season series with the Mavericks including a 2-1 overtime win in Evansville on November 18. The Mavericks are now 2-1-1 all-time against Evansville and 1-0-1 in Evansville.

Guy's Night Out - On Tuesday, December 13, the Mavericks and Isle of Capri Casino will host Guy's Night Out at the Lone Wolf Bar & Grill at Isle of Capri Casino. The event is free for all "guy" Mavericks' fans. Happy Hour will start at 5:30 p.m. and there will be a $7.99 All-You-Can-Eat Taco Bar along with other specials. The program will consist of insider information including hockey "code of the road", top pranks, rookie initiation and locker room stories.
Notes
Special teams - The Mavericks currently rank 9th in the CHL on the power play having scored 16 power play goals on 86 chances (18.6%). When the Mavericks score a power play goal, the team is 7-2-1, for an .800 win percentage. The Mavericks are 3-6-1 when not scoring a power play goal. On the other side, the Mavericks rank seventh in the CHL on the penalty kill at 80.7%, and the team is 5-2-1 when their opponent does not score a power play goal.
League leader - Sebastien Thinel is second in scoring in the CHL. His 30 total points trail only Rapid City's Jesse Schultz who has 32 points. Thinel's 23 assists lead the CHL.
McGrane on fire - Mavs' forward Ed McGrane has 11 points in his last nine games on four goals and seven assists. McGrane has also recorded at least one point in all but five of his 17 games played this season.
Conference race - The Mavericks are just five points behind the Evansville IceMen for first place in the Turner Conference. Missouri is 10-8-2 for 22 points and they are four points below the Fort Wayne Komets for second place in the conference.
More than three - When the Mavericks score more than three goals in a game the team is 6-1-0. When scoring three or fewer the Mavs are 4-7-2.
Home vs. Road -The Mavericks are currently 2-5-1 at Independence Events Center and averaging 3.13 goals per game. On the road the Mavericks are 8-3-1 averaging 3.08 goals per game. The difference has been goals allowed. Missouri is giving up 4.25 goals per game at home and 2.42 goals per game on the road.
Chicago Wolves - The Mavericks' AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, won their last two games of a three-game set this weekend and are currently 11-9-1-3 and in third place in the Midwest Division. The Wolves are led by Darren Haydar who has 27 points on eight goals and 19 assists in 23 games played. The Wolves are in Charlotte this Thursday and Friday before they head home for a game against the Toronto Marlies on Sunday.
